Rescue Team below 2nd Step
Andy Politz took this shot as he approached the mushroom rock, about one hundred feet further ahead, by the fixed rope. Tap, Jason, and Andy Lapkass approach the mushroom rock, after completing the difficult traverse from the Second Step. Dave, Jaime, and Purba are at the base of the Second Step. Halfway up the Step waits a spanish speaking climber, on his descent from the summit, who tried to go around Dave and Jaime on the steepest part of the Second Step. Dave made him wait for him and Jaime to finish their descent of the Step, before he rapelled down and passed them. The other spanish speaking climber, also descending, is seen on the snow above the Third Step.
