Hey everyone, just thought you would enjoy seeing what the inside of our Basecamp communications tent looks like. We have great furnishings, all equipped with Slumberjack tables and chairs ... Andy Politz is hard at work doing photo editing ... Dr. Lee Meyers in the background working on the computer.

In the back lower left you can see our power supply ... 3 car batteries. Feeding into this is our 400-watt wind power generator (which really hums here at Rongbuk) and 10 solar panels. This is a miniature solution to the world's power crisis. The heck with the oil cartels, let's just power the whole world on wind generators from Tibet! The wind never stops... We have a high output Trace inverter that supplies us with 110v AC for running battery chargers, boom boxes, etc. On the back tables are our sat phones and more laptops.

On the table in the foreground in one of our special 1:1000 airphotos printed by SwissPhoto. These are monster blowups from the 10x10 color negatives shot from 40,000 feet on November 22, 1984. We have photos of the whole upper mountain / search area to help us refine our objectives. You can see a lot of fine detail on these photos ....

OK, so this is the nerve center of our connection to the outside world, only thing we need is more heat in here .... my feet are freezing! Note the guys are wearing down jackets, gotta' work on a solution for that ....
