An important part of our expedition this year are the client climbers joining us on the mountain. Here is their status as of Wed. April 11:

The Non-guided summit climbers: Terry LaFrance and Mike Otis are working on their acclimatization. Both have been to ABC, and Mike has been to the North Col. Currently Mike is at BC resting and Terry is heading up to ABC to take a shot at the Col.

The Singapore team climbing as a separate unit (Dave, Ben, Roz, Gil) have been to ABC to sleep, and are now coming back down to BC for a rest. The Singapore base camp manager Wong Ting Sern is waiting for them at BC.

The 8000 meter climbers: Chris Shiver, Jim Waldron (with wife Lanta Olito shooting to reach the North Col), Ed Wheeler are making their second push up to ABC now, with the goal being to sleep there for three nights, and to take a shot at climbing to the Col. They are accompanied by IMG guides Craig John and Jason Tanguay. Trekker Dick Dickerson is with them. Tim Lapham and Jerry Gross (with wife and trekker Maggie Gross) are resting at Base Camp, recovering from minor illness.

IMG guide Heidi Eichner has gone down to Tingri to meet Heather Macdonald and the first group of trekkers who will make the 3-day walk from Tingri to Base Camp. We look forward to their arrival. Our internet coverage field technician Riley Morton is with them, and as soon as he gets here maybe we can start getting some video clips over there to the site.
